Blue Citrus Gift Boxes

Happy Sunday!  It's a rainy day here and to pass the time I decided to play around with a gift box file that I purchased from the Silhouette store some time ago.  The end of the school year is coming up and I need some boxes for my kids teachers.  I used DCWV's Blue Citrus stack.  I know I've done a lot of projects with this stack already, but I really do love it.  Great floral designs, bold prints, and hey, lots of blues.

Unfinished Projects

I don't know about you, but I have a drawer full of unfinished projects.  Cards that I started, elements that I made but ultimately didn't work with the project I was working on, you name it.  Brandy loves this drawer.  She has made it her mission to finish the unfinished.  And with that in mind, I have three cards to show you today.  Nothing terribly special or innovative, but they are done.  I wish I could tell you what paper stacks these are from, but I started them so long ago I really have no idea!   So these go wayyyy back.

The little panda bear is from a set of chipboard I got for one of my son's valentines years ago.  Most of it went out with the purge which poor Brandy was so upset about.  Turns out those were her favorite little embellishments.  I have yet to live it down and so I am typing this out to let her know, once again, how sorry I am I got rid of her favorite embellishments.  There, I said it.

Bookmarks for My Son

My son is quite the reader, and while I adore this about him, if I do have one complaint it's that he's constantly asking me for something to use as a bookmark.  He's very particular (doesn't like to fold down his pages) so we end up picking up odds and ends all of the time for his books.  I decided to make him some bookmarks of his very own.

I started with one of DCWV's new stacks, White Ginger, and a few Silhouette store files.  I then looked for a few images of Sonic (my son's favorite video game character right now) on the internet, did some tracing and walla!  The base bookmark file is from the Silhouette store and BRB stands for "Be Right Back".  Here they are, along with a few of my son's favorite books.

Snapshots

Spring break!  Is over.  The kids have been back to school for a week now and I'm still going through withdrawal. Reentry is always hard!  Believe it or not, I took over 1,000 photographs on our island adventure.  And then accidently and permanently deleted about 800 or so of them when I got home.  I'm not going to go into details as to how I managed to do this.  And no, they can't be recovered, I've already tried.  And tried.  And tried.  I decided to just get over it.  Yes, I lost pics from some great days and some thing that I really wanted to document, but it happens.  I still have some great photographs and that's what I'm choosing to focus on.  The glass is indeed half full.

With that in mind, I have another 12 x 24 scrapbook page for you today.   I loved these pictures of my son playing around with my umbrella and I couldn't decide which ones to use, so I made it easy, I used almost all of them.  The paper is from one of DCWV's new stacks, Fiesta, and you can find it at your local Joann's.  I love the bright vibrant colors from this stack.  It worked really well with the pictures and my very colorful umbrella.

The wood veneers are a new set from Freckled Fawn.  Absolutely adorable right?  The brads are from my stash and the metal accents are from Tim Holtz.  I hope you like the page.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The Quest to Create

And now it's time for the Good Life Project inspired cards!  Yep, I might do a whole series of these, similar to the Take What You Need card sets I did a while back.  There is so much inspiration in the good life creed, I just couldn't help myself, I needed to put one of my favorite quotes on a card.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye, The Sweetest Thing, and the stamps are from Cas-ual Fridays.  That cute little wood veneer heart is made by Freckled Fawn.  For those of you more interested in the Good Life Project, you can read more about it here at jonathanfields.com.   I am also entering this card in this week's Play Date Cafe challenge.  The colors are perfect!   Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Good Life Project Living Creed

I saw this on Pinterest some time ago and was immediately smitten.  It was written by Jonathan Fields, who has lead an extraordinary life - you can read more about him here.  This creed, more than anything I have read in a long time, really spoke to me.  So I decided I wanted to put it in a frame somewhere where I could always refer to it.  I purchased a frame a month ago, and finally sat down this Sunday to make this.  I created the page in Photo Shop Elements, and then added it to the frame you see below.

Project Life, Oh Where Have You Been?

Where did my Project Life updates go?  I'm sorry, it occurred to me today that I haven't posted anything about this since the end of January.  Project Life is still rocking along.  No big changes, I am still doing bi-weekly layouts using a ton of photo collages.  I am pretty much up to date, all pics have been printed, and I just have a bit of journaling to do for weeks 14-15.  So we're all good.  There are way too many pictures to show you so I'm going to choose my favorites from the last two months.

Love that my husband is journaling more!

Tons, I know!  Still in love with this project though.  I am linking up this week with The Mom Creative's Project Life Tuesday.  Stop by for a ton of Project Life inspiration.  I hope you have enjoyed it and thanks for stopping by today!

A Fiesta of Cards

Another card set.  These are fairly generic, either Happy Birthday or Congratulations.  I never have enough of the birthday ones stashed away.  This set features DCWV's new Fiesta stack which is available at JoAnns.  It is GORGEOUS!  This is really just a small sampling of the beautiful papers in this stack.  I am most definitely going to have to make a scrapbook page with it.

I did something a little different here.  I used print and cut on several pattern papers to create my flowers.  For those of you who are interested, the flowers are a free digital file from my good friend Jackie Rockwell.  Jackie has these files on her blog available for download.  Check them out here

Hootie Hoo! - Cas-ual Fridays 98

This week's theme at the Cas-usal Friday challenge blog is to include glitter somewhere on your project.  I whipped this one up very quickly  today for one of my son's teachers.  She has been an incredible influence on his life so I wanted to make her something really cute - she loves owls so that helps.

There is a little bit of everything on this card.  DCWV's glitter paper, DCWV's adhesive cork (that I hand cut - go me!), and finally DCWV's Chickadee stack (the sweet little heart).  I also used a new QuickCutz embossing folder, and did a print and cut with my Cameo (Hootie Hoo).  The stamps are new for me, they are from Simon Says.  I'm excited to play with them a bit more in the upcoming weeks.  I hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Playing in The Dirt Again!

I did something I haven't done in a long time, I made a 12 x 24 layout!  How long has it been?  I think the last one I did was back in 2011.  Seriously!  So why now?  Too many photos, really.  That's generally what it comes down to.  But it is nice to be working on a larger canvas.  I'll have to remember that!

I haven't been crafting much lately because I have gotten back into my forgotten hobby - gardening!  There was a point in time about five-six years ago that I was as hot and heavy about gardening as I am with my paper.  So I figured it would be a good idea to commemorate my return to playing in the dirt with a scrapbook page.  The paper is from DCWV's Delightful Stack which is now available at Michaels.  I have used so much of this stack I have mostly just scraps left.  It makes me feel to so thoroughly use a stack of paper.  I really worked hard at making sure all of my favorite papers ended up on this layout.

There are a lot of little elements here.  I added wood veneers by Recollections (available at Michaels), stamped them with ink and added embossing powder.  I did the same with the wood veneer thought bubbles  (Freckled Fawn) minus the embossing powder.  The bling is from Doodlebug Designs, and the metal accents are from Momenta.
