Thank You Button Card

My intentions were to make this a shaker card but it dawned on me that I really didn't want the buttons moving around.  So I just glued them in place.  I based my design on this card that I found on Pinterest but changed it a bit.  I used my Silhouette pen holder to hold a sharpie in place to draw on the stencil material.  I had to run it through four times or so to get the coverage I wanted, and truthfully it's still not a thick enough line for me.  I recently purchased their newest pen holder but haven't used it yet.  I am curious to see how this would like with a regular ' ol Sharpie.

Anyway, very simple, but really cute.  I know I have a gazillion buttons so I can see myself making quite a few more of these in order to use up some of my never ending supplies.

Shaker Butterfly Cards

I took a short trip to a craft store today looking for something other than regular ol' sequins to put in shaker cards.   Lots of Christmas doo dads to be found and it's just August!  That said, I found some pretty sequin butterflies and set about making my biggest shaker cards ever!  Seriously, this is probably the last time I make any these size.  But, I do really love the way they turned out.

jingle, tree, cheer, ornaments, egg nog . . .

And the Christmas card parade continues.  This most recent set of cards is scrap lifted and inspired by this Christmas card I found on Pinterest.  I haven't played with my sewing machine much lately so it was fun pulling it back out.  I also pulled out some Christmas stamps that I had yet to use.  This set is from Technique Tuesday and Ali Edwards.  I went into my stash to find other Christmas embellishments.  I had to actually hunt those down I've been using so many.  I knew I would make a dent in that Christmas bin eventually!

Christmas Shaker Cards

My love of Christmas cards has yet to wane.  Brandy is so happy.  I have also caught the shaker card bug.  I've made one or two over the years but for some reason I have been making a bunch of them lately.  Here is my first Christmas version.

Gift Envelopes

I have a project to share that Brandy I competed eons ago.  Okay, maybe just months ago.  She is always in need of decorative envelopes for her family's religious gatherings.  She has mentioned this many times over the years and we finally sat down to make some this past winter.

Christmas Again!

I told you there were more cards.  This is set No. 2.  I decided to try to make some inset cards.  Again inspired by Pinterest, but a decent enough departure from the original.  As I mentioned before, I still have plenty of Christmas themed supplies left.  I made four of these babies and gave them to Brandy.  She says she can never have enough Christmas cards and she's planning on taking (and using) every Christmas card I make over the next month or so.  But she has put in a bit of sweat equity so I am not complaining.

Christmas in August!

My card swap group has run a few Christmas card swaps recently and I decided to participate in one. My best friend Brandy will tell you that I am not really big on Christmas.  I have a huge bin full of Christmas paper, embellishments, ribbon, etc. that stays hidden for ten and a half months out of the year.  I never feel the urge to pull it out, and as Brandy puts it, get started early.

So the swap got me going.  Brandy and pulled out the Christmas bin and we started making cards.  This card design is actually a pretty pure scraplift from Pinterest.  I made ten of these for my swap group and Brandy and I made twenty of these for her to take and send to whoever her heart desires.

She says she has to take advantage of my Christmas card making mood while it lasts.

There is more Christmas to come!  This is the first set of many.  And sadly, I still haven't put as much of a dent in that Christmas bin and I was hoping to.

A Minecraft Birthday

Yes, I know it has been forevah since I posted.  I have no good excuse other than "It's Summertime!" Sadly my kids went back to school a few weeks ago so we are getting used to the school time rhythm again.  I have been spending a bit more time in my craft room working on a few things that I will be sharing over the next few weeks.

This card is one that I made for a special little boy who is fighting a pretty rough battle right now.  He loves Minecraft though so I thought I would work with that a bit.  I could not find a Minecraft sword svg anywhere on the 'net which meant more work for me, but I had already committed to the idea of using the sword so I decided to create my own.  It took a while, and I don't think I've handled such tiny pieces of paper in a long time but it was well worth it.  I love the way this turned out in the end and I am hoping that Jacob loves it!
