Blue Citrus Gift Boxes

Happy Sunday!  It's a rainy day here and to pass the time I decided to play around with a gift box file that I purchased from the Silhouette store some time ago.  The end of the school year is coming up and I need some boxes for my kids teachers.  I used DCWV's Blue Citrus stack.  I know I've done a lot of projects with this stack already, but I really do love it.  Great floral designs, bold prints, and hey, lots of blues.

Bookmarks for My Son

My son is quite the reader, and while I adore this about him, if I do have one complaint it's that he's constantly asking me for something to use as a bookmark.  He's very particular (doesn't like to fold down his pages) so we end up picking up odds and ends all of the time for his books.  I decided to make him some bookmarks of his very own.

I started with one of DCWV's new stacks, White Ginger, and a few Silhouette store files.  I then looked for a few images of Sonic (my son's favorite video game character right now) on the internet, did some tracing and walla!  The base bookmark file is from the Silhouette store and BRB stands for "Be Right Back".  Here they are, along with a few of my son's favorite books.

Valentine's Day Notebook

This is a very quick post for a very simple project.  I am about to send my sister another batch of cards, and decided to make her something really quick just for her.  I didn't do any embellishing because the paper was really enough.  Super quick, and fun.  I hope she likes it.

This Gift is For You! - Photo Christmas Tags

Months ago I saw this cute post on Pinterest (which I apparently didn't pin because I can't find it now) of gift tags made out of pictures.  I put it in the back of my mind and told myself that if I had time this Christmas I was going to make some of these.  So, I had a little bit of time, couldn't find the post and figured I would just wing it.  These are the tags I came up with.  My boys get gifts from Santa as well as us.  Too many of them of course, so I decided to only make the tags for the gifts from Santa.  I love them!  They will undoubtedly be quickly tossed aside on the big day, but maybe I can save a few for a Project Life memento.

Christmas Note Card Pads featuring DCWV's Evergreen Stack

A few years ago I made a bunch of these note card stacks to give out as gifts for Christmas.  Brandy has wanted to make these for her office staff for a while now.  We didn't get to it last Christmas but I finally got around to creating a file in the Silhouette Studio this weekend.  I used DCWV's new Evergreen stack primarily for the boxes, and you'll see a bit of Artic Wishes sprinkled in there and there.  I really love the way these turned out.  It took a long time.  At one point I had two machines humming away cutting out what has to be a zillion sheets of white paper.  It was worth it though.  I am sure her staff and family are going to appreciate these.

The Best is Yet to Come featuring DCWV's The Art of Type

Yes, uh huh, that's right, it's another file A2 card box.  This card is a complete scraplift from a really simple and beautiful card I saw on Pinterest.  I felt like stripping it down a little bit for some reason.  I pulled out a mat stack and paper stack that I haven't used yet - DCWV's The Art of Type.  

You've seen this box before, albeit slightly differently.  I went back and reworked the file so that it can now be cut out of one 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.  You will have to assemble it (attach the front flap).  It's also slightly smaller in terms of width, but really, the first one was pretty big and this one holds 5 cards with quite a bit of dimension comfortably.  I am also offering this file as a free .studio file for download.  You can find it here.  As always, please do not share the file, but link back to my blog and leave me a note when you use it.  I want to see what you make with it!

'Tis The Season featuring DCWV's Artic Wishes

Hola!  Happy Sunday everyone.  As you know I am a big fan of card sets and lately I have set out on a quest for cute boxes to display those cards.  As always, Pinterest never fails.  I found this cute box, and followed the basic tutorial to create a .studio file to create this box.  I actually tweaked it quite a bit to make it a bit smaller and suited to A2 size cards.  The cards are made using DCWV's card set Artic Wishes, as well as paper from their new 12 x 12 Artic Wishes stack.  DCWV always puts out a beautiful winter stack full of gorgeous blues.  Love it!  Okay, here it is.

I pulled out my sewing machine for this one, and man has it been some time.  Not my best stitching here.  Clearly I'm out of practice!  Otherwise I think these are pretty cute and will make a great gift.  Glad to be done with one of these, only about a gazillion more to go.

As I did with the last file box I created, I am offering this file free.  You can download the file free here from my Dropbox folder.  This box can be cut out using 12" cardstock, you will just need two sheets and it needs to be assembled. Baby Shower Bucket

I haven't played with vinyl is sooooooo long!  But I did tonight.  Brandy came over and we decorated a silver bucket that another friend is going to use for a baby shower gift.  It's a boy and apparently the Mom to be is going with a Lion King theme.  I can work with anything safari.  Ha!  Here's what we came up with:

This was such fun to make.  And it only took a few hours.  Brandy is the queen of weeding which is great because I LOATHE doing it.  I am hoping our friend will take a picture when it's all filled up with baby goodness and I can come back and share that with you as well.

Boxes, Boxes and More Boxes

Many of you know I was recently absent from my blog.  What the heck have I been doing?  Reading for one, I couldn't put Scott Westerfeld's Midnighter's trilogy down.  Only to be slightly disappointed when it ended.  Sigh, but that's how it goes.  (here is a link to the first book on Goodreads).  But aside from reading I began working on a ton of boxes for my sister.  She called me last Monday and asked for 92.  Yep, you read that right - 92.  I laughed.  I told her I would cut for a certain amount of time and how ever many that ended up being would be the number she would get.  It ended up being around 50 or so.  Now these boxes are not embellished, or fancified like I would normally do.  There was no time for that!  I could barely get the tags done in time so it is what it is.  I thought I would show them to you anyway.

Now are there 50 boxes in these pictures?  No.  I honestly didn't feel up to trying to stage all of them!  So what you see are a small sampling of what I have been slaving over this past week.  I hope she likes them because I am DONE!
