Just A Note Shaker Cards using Print & Cut

Once I got a little taste of the print and cut shaker cards I couldn't stop.  I found  a few other images in the Silhouette store that I thought would fit with this type of card.  This one is just a simple note card.  Love the way it turned out!

You Are Awesome Shaker Cards

I found this card on Pinterest and decided I wanted to scraplift it.  Except in my usual fashion, as much as I am drawn to clean and simple, I end up wanting more color on my cards and so, I used pattern paper instead of white paper to add a bit more interest.

And instead of stamping with another stamp that I loved upon site and did not own, I tried to recreate the look at must as possible using print and cut with the shapes in the Silhouette store.

Take What You Need Shakers

My sister asked me to make her some additional Take What You Need cards.  Interestingly enough, I had already started some for her.  They are, of course, shakers.

And Finally . . . Not a Shaker

I'll get back to posting some additional shakers real soon.  Like tomorrow probably.  In the meantime I want to share a card I recently made after seeing this card on Pinterest.  I love Papertrey Ink and so many of their products.  I just can't afford to buy them all, so I find myself trying to recreate the same effects using print and cut with my Cameo.

At first I went with all of the white space.  I love to look at clean and simple cards, but have a hard time loving the ones I make for some reason.

It just felt too plain to me so I decided to add some patterned paper.  The paper you see is actually a digital pattern that I purchased from the Silhouette store.  It worked perfectly for this card.  A few layers of butterflies and I was done.  This one, this is the one that I love.  I made these into Thank You cards because that is what my sister requested.  She has made her way through her stash.  But really, you could add any sentiment and it would be just as beautiful.

Thank You Flower Shaker Cards

Brandy has been bugging me to replenish her Thank You card stash.  This card is made from a file in the Silhouette store that is actually designed for shakers.  It goes a whole lot quicker that way.

Get Well Soon Bear Shakers

I don't often do cutesy and the Silhouette store is full of these type of designs lately.  That said, I really did like this bear dressed as a nurse with a big band aid.  And because I can't stop making shakers I had to incorporate that into the card as well.  These cards are for a swap that I am participating in later this month.  I am halfway done, now I just need to make some sympathy cards.

Christmas in August!

My card swap group has run a few Christmas card swaps recently and I decided to participate in one. My best friend Brandy will tell you that I am not really big on Christmas.  I have a huge bin full of Christmas paper, embellishments, ribbon, etc. that stays hidden for ten and a half months out of the year.  I never feel the urge to pull it out, and as Brandy puts it, get started early.

So the swap got me going.  Brandy and pulled out the Christmas bin and we started making cards.  This card design is actually a pretty pure scraplift from Pinterest.  I made ten of these for my swap group and Brandy and I made twenty of these for her to take and send to whoever her heart desires.

She says she has to take advantage of my Christmas card making mood while it lasts.

There is more Christmas to come!  This is the first set of many.  And sadly, I still haven't put as much of a dent in that Christmas bin and I was hoping to.

A Minecraft Birthday

Yes, I know it has been forevah since I posted.  I have no good excuse other than "It's Summertime!" Sadly my kids went back to school a few weeks ago so we are getting used to the school time rhythm again.  I have been spending a bit more time in my craft room working on a few things that I will be sharing over the next few weeks.

This card is one that I made for a special little boy who is fighting a pretty rough battle right now.  He loves Minecraft though so I thought I would work with that a bit.  I could not find a Minecraft sword svg anywhere on the 'net which meant more work for me, but I had already committed to the idea of using the sword so I decided to create my own.  It took a while, and I don't think I've handled such tiny pieces of paper in a long time but it was well worth it.  I love the way this turned out in the end and I am hoping that Jacob loves it!

C & S Creative Card Swap Challenge # 1 - Birthday Cards

My very good crafty friend and I recently started a card swap group on Facebook. Our first two swaps are something that you can never get enough of - birthday cards.  My card is a fairly heavy scraplift of a card created by Jen Gallager that I saw on Pinterest.  I loved the die cuts and the simplicity of the card.  So cute, but not so cutesy that you couldn't give one to a girlfriend or a co-worker.  Plus, it's a fairly easy card to replicate and assembly goes really quickly.  I added some bling and a cut out Happy Birthday die cut that is a print and cut from my Cameo.  I'm really happy with the way these turned out.  I know I can make a bunch of these in a pinch if I need to.

These were so easy to put together that I actually made about fifteen.  I have two people regularly raiding my card stash so I'm already down to three!

If you're interested in a card swap group please check us out here - C & S Creative Card Swap on Facebook.  We hold a minimum of two swaps a month covering a variety of themes and techniques. We would love to have you join us!

Butterfly Kisses

More modeling paste and stencils on this card.  This time I colored the modeling paste with my stampin' up reinkers.  It's a bit messy and you can't reuse the paste once it's colored, so it definitely takes a bit of practice.  That said, I am fairly happy with the card overall.  I wanted a more vibrant green, but I now know which reinker not to use next time.

I am shooting photos outdoors as much as possible now.  It's so nice and bright on our back deck, and it's wonderful not to have to haul out the extra lights, background, etc.  So you'll be seeing a lot more of my backyard in the weeks to come!

Another Happy Birthday Card

And another experiment with duplicating shapes with my Cameo.  Also a little print and cut with this one for the sentiment.

Happy Birthday to You . . . A Pinterest Scraplift

Sometimes I wonder what I did before Pinterest.  I have a really, really large general card board on that site.  Anytime I see a card that I like, or even one that has an element that inspires me, up it goes.  I know I could never come close to using the inspiration of all of my pins, although I'll settle for a few.  So occasionally I will pin something that will spur me into wanting to creating something just like it, a pure scraplift if you will.  I did that with this card I found a few weeks ago.  I didn't have the exact same tools, but I used what I had in order to create something I really like.

I didn't have the exact chevron die, but used the one I had closest to it.  I also used Print and Cut with my Silhouette Cameo to get the sentiment on the card.  It took a few tries to get it in the right place but I'm happy with the results.  I like it when I can achieve pretty much the same look without having to purchase anything!

Just a Note - Instagram Inspired Cards

Are you as nutty about Instagram as I am?  It's one of the few social media sites that I really get into.  I love being able to follow people visually.  That said, there are quite a few cute instagram shapes in the Silhouette store.  I was playing around with them this morning, seeing what interesting patterns I could come up with.  I used the sketch feature on these cards, and added a simple "Just a Note" to finish them off.

Butterfly Kisses

I have been experimenting with my Silhouette Designer Studio software welding shapes together.  This card is nothing special or groundbreaking but I do think it turned out pretty nice.

The Last Graduate

I really mean it.  It's another shaped card because I had run out of steam at that point.  So glad to finally get all of these cards completed.

With Sympathy . . . A Scraplift with a Twist

One of my favorite cardmakers is Laura Bassen.  I saw this card she recently made for the latest Papertrey Ink release on Pinterest and had one of those moments where I wanted to make the exact same thing I loved it so much.

Except that I don't really want to buy this stamp set.  I have too many stamps as it is! My solution was to play around using print and cut on my Silhouette Cameo to see if I could recreate the card.

I think I did a pretty good job and came pretty close.  And best of all it didn't cost me anything!
