Yep, it's another scrapbook page. What can I tell you, I'm in that zone. Last month my best friend's family was at a fairly popular park here in Atlanta. A local photographer took one look at her kids and started snapping pictures. Yes, they are that cute! What you see is one of the photos from that day. Sweet Luca, being tossed in the air by his daddy. He is in flght and loving every moment of it and I break out in a smile every time I see this photograph. I fell in love with it the MOMENT I saw it and was just able to snag a copy of it a few weeks ago. The photographer responsible for this photo is Lisa Polucci and you can find her here - Lisa Polucci Photography. I've spent a bit of time perusing her gallery, and yeah, this lady knows how to capture those special moments. As always, started with a sketch that really seemed to match this photo and this memory so very well. It is courtesy of one of my new discoveries, Liz Qualman:
Here is the page. I am seriously going to have a hard time giving this one to Brandy!
Now this page had to be a record for me - under 3 hours and that's primarily because of the small amount of paper I used. I mean really, I'm the layer girl and there is not even a background layer here! Stepping out of my comfort zone one toe at a time . . .
I allowed myself a long denied pleasure, shopping in a craft store today, and came across this gorgeous paper by My Mind's Eye, which is one of the reasons I have not been in the craft stores - I see, I like, I buy!, but I digress. I normally steer clear from this type of pre-printed border because I hate covering it up and I hate to be constricted by NOT being able to cover it up but I liked it so much I decided to give it a try. So glad I did! I kept the embellishments to a minimum - something else I'm working on, and walla, finished page. Brandy has seen it and already loves it so that was all the affirmation I needed.
Another quick note - I did print this photo myself with my wide format printer. My Epson Artisian is rocking it let me tell you! I am so happy I have it because this is not a standard size photo, it measures roughly 4.75 by 7 inches. I am again so glad that I can print pics up to the specs I need and I don't have to rely on pre-programmed measurements.

Thank you Lisa! Betsy that shape is actually a doily image from the Silhouette store. Pretty cute huh?

That is such a gorgeous photo, and the LO is just stunning. I love all the details especially the pearls. TFS.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow I'd sell this to your friend Brandy LOL! This LO is so gorgeous! And that boy is a heart-breaker-in-training and doesn't even know it! I may bug you on info about that new printer of yours - just got into digital scrapbooking (with the hopes to get a handle on the thousands of digital pics stuck in my computer).
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!
