You Are Awesome Shaker Cards

I found this card on Pinterest and decided I wanted to scraplift it.  Except in my usual fashion, as much as I am drawn to clean and simple, I end up wanting more color on my cards and so, I used pattern paper instead of white paper to add a bit more interest.

And instead of stamping with another stamp that I loved upon site and did not own, I tried to recreate the look at must as possible using print and cut with the shapes in the Silhouette store.

Thank You Sun Shakers

Told you I wasn't done with this sun image.  I decided to make this into a thank you card, but only partially a shaker.  I can see myself moving back into that realm soon.

Followed by a . . . Thank You Shaker

I love the tag shakers I made for Halloween.  I've used that image several times on cards and on scrapbook pages.  Clearly I haven't gotten enough of it.  I made some small Thank You shakers one afternoon featuring the DCWV Violet Leaf stack.  These papers are really gorgeous for scrapbook pages and for cards.

And Finally . . . Not a Shaker

I'll get back to posting some additional shakers real soon.  Like tomorrow probably.  In the meantime I want to share a card I recently made after seeing this card on Pinterest.  I love Papertrey Ink and so many of their products.  I just can't afford to buy them all, so I find myself trying to recreate the same effects using print and cut with my Cameo.

At first I went with all of the white space.  I love to look at clean and simple cards, but have a hard time loving the ones I make for some reason.

It just felt too plain to me so I decided to add some patterned paper.  The paper you see is actually a digital pattern that I purchased from the Silhouette store.  It worked perfectly for this card.  A few layers of butterflies and I was done.  This one, this is the one that I love.  I made these into Thank You cards because that is what my sister requested.  She has made her way through her stash.  But really, you could add any sentiment and it would be just as beautiful.

Thank You Button Card

My intentions were to make this a shaker card but it dawned on me that I really didn't want the buttons moving around.  So I just glued them in place.  I based my design on this card that I found on Pinterest but changed it a bit.  I used my Silhouette pen holder to hold a sharpie in place to draw on the stencil material.  I had to run it through four times or so to get the coverage I wanted, and truthfully it's still not a thick enough line for me.  I recently purchased their newest pen holder but haven't used it yet.  I am curious to see how this would like with a regular ' ol Sharpie.

Anyway, very simple, but really cute.  I know I have a gazillion buttons so I can see myself making quite a few more of these in order to use up some of my never ending supplies.

I'm So Grateful and Thankful

New set of cards.  I have so many supplies I have never used and one of my goals of 2014 is to remedy that.  So today I pulled out some dies that I've had for a while but haven't used yet - Thankful and Grateful dies by Papertrey Ink.  I had initially planned on going plain, but as I was getting into it the cards needed a little something so ended up adding ribbon and flowers, all from my stash, thankyouverymuch!

Be gentle, it's my first time playing with paper in what has to be at least a month.  It takes a while to get back into the groove.  Still, I like these and will use them.  Lots of thank you need to be sent out for the wonderful gifts I received over the holidays.

A Bevy of Thank You Cards

I found myself in a Thank You Card drought a few weeks ago.  Normally Brandy raids my card drawer but leaves me at least one Thank You card.  Not this time.  So in an effort to anticipate her future greediness claim and still leave myself with a few I made a bunch of them.  Ten to be exact.  And I played with sequins which was fun.  Painstakingly slow, but still fun.

A Thank You Card

My card making mojo is touch and go so I find myself turning to my Pinterest card board for inspiration quite a bit.  This card is not a complete scraplift, but was definitely inspired by a card I pinned earlier this summer.

Clearly my photography mojo had escaped me this day as well.  Yikes!  Well, I hope you can see enough of it and your eyes aren't hurting too much.

One More Down . . .

This is going to be a quick fly by post.  I was only able to finish one additional Thank You card for my son's teachers.  Sigh.  So I've just had to dig into my card drawer for the final one.  Here she is!

You Remind Me . . .The Best Teacher in the World

I am getting a late start on my end of teacher thank you cards.  In reality I am only committing myself to three this year, so I should be able to crank this out before next Wednesday.  I finished the first one tonight and it was one of those mojo moments where I started playing around with some chevrons in the Silhouette Studio, and a short time later I had this completed.  Truly inspiration on the spot.  The beautiful teacher is a wonderfully colored image from my girl Kymberlee at The Paper Midwife.  I have very slowly been working my way through a big batch of colored images she sent me last year.  Lurve them!

The paper is My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose.  I really am down to like, my last five pieces of this paper.  What will I do when I run out?!  The stamp is from Verve and the pearls are by Doodlebug Designs.

Case Study No. 73 Redux

This challenge actually ended on Tuesday night but I actually made more cards.  Brandy has been asking for more Thank You cards so this was an excuse to make up a bunch more.  Again, negative images, and again, the Silhouette store.  I've used this ribbon on a few project so I think it's fair to say that I like it  - a lot.  I hope you enjoy these.

And here some individual shots:

Stay tuned for the recipe!
