A Few More Challenge Cards

Long time no post.   I'm been busy outside round and about.  It's probably going to be this way as the summer picks up.  I took some time this weekend to play in my craft room and I came up with a few cards for two of my favorite challenges.  This week's Cas-ual Friday's challenge is a tic-tac-toe challenge to commemorate the blog's one hundredth challenge.  I went with the Kraft, Bling and Emboss line.  I used the emboss resist technique when I stamped and colored the flower on Kraft paper.  A few jewels added to the card to round it out..   

The second card is for this week's Retro Sketches challenge.  I just pulled out the first 6 x 6 paper stack (from My Mind's Eye) I put my fingers on and worked my way from there.  If you haven't noticed I am in love with wood veneers.  Totally.  I can't help it.

Hootie Hoo! - Cas-ual Fridays 98

This week's theme at the Cas-usal Friday challenge blog is to include glitter somewhere on your project.  I whipped this one up very quickly  today for one of my son's teachers.  She has been an incredible influence on his life so I wanted to make her something really cute - she loves owls so that helps.  

There is a little bit of everything on this card.  DCWV's glitter paper, DCWV's adhesive cork (that I hand cut - go me!), and finally DCWV's Chickadee stack (the sweet little heart).  I also used a new QuickCutz embossing folder, and did a print and cut with my Cameo (Hootie Hoo).  The stamps are new for me, they are from Simon Says.  I'm excited to play with them a bit more in the upcoming weeks.  I hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Case This Sketch No. 20 and Cas-ual Fridays No. 95

I can't remember the last time I played at a card challenge.  I've been done with DT projects for a while now so I thought I would try my hand at a few challenges today.  Case This Sketch challenge is a sketch challenge (my favorite) and this week's Cas-ual Friday challenge it to make a CAS card without stamping. That's fairly easy for me to do as I can just print and cut any sentiment that I would like to add.  This is what I came up with.

Case This Sketch No. 10

I have been in a card making mood.  Good for me, my card drawer is pretty empty these days so it's about time I filled it back up.  This card is for this week's Case This Sketch challenge.  My good friend Jackie runs it and this is the first time I've really had time to sit down and create a card to play along.  Love the sketch this week!   This was a quick but fun card.  I love experimenting with clean and simple cards.  Ideas, ideas, I have so many more ideas.

Call Me Maybe . . . The Cameo Spotlight # 7

Hola everyone!  Happy Saturday.  Today's Cameo Spotlight challenge is sponsored by Paper Smooches stamps.  My card is almost 100% print and cut this week.  I found some digital paper to match this week's color challenge and cut out the shapes on my Cameo.  The card sentiment is also a print and cut, but the cute telephones and the inside sentiment are from the a Paper Smooches stamp set.  I don't buy many stamps because I can pretty much print and cut most everything that I want.  Of the few sets I've purchased in the last six months, Paper Smooches are among them.  Very cute, and very original images.  Love them!

The Cameo Spotlight No. 6 - Something Spooktacular!

It has indeed been a while hasn't it?  I have been taking it easy, and crafting a few things for Design Teams that I am not able to show you just yet - but stay tuned because they are coming soon.  Today I have a card that I made for this week's Cameo Spotlight challenge.  This week's theme is Halloween!  I absolutely love crafting Halloween items, and I think I read somewhere that it's the biggest seller for paper as far as the paper crafting industry goes.  I know I certainly make my contribution each year! 

Another fun take on this week's challenge is that Jackie has opened it up to other home decor items.  You can submit:  Cards, Tags, Scrapbook Pages, Home Decor, Gift Boxes and Bags, Party Favors and Ornaments.   Also, there is a prize for this week's winner:

For my submission for this week's challenge I kept it simple by making a card, or rather a card and a card set.   I fell in love with the most adorable Halloween digital set that I found at a new place - the Scrap Orchard.  Well, it's not new to many of you digi scrappers, but it's new to me!  My first card is a 5 x 7 but for the set I decided to shrink it back down to A2 size - 4.25 x 5.5.  I plan to have my son use these cards as thank you cards for any presents he gets at his birthday party.

The Cameo Spotlight #5 . . . Take What You Need Take #3

Hey everyone, this is going to be a real short post as I am late for the the autism conference I am attending today.  There is never enough time!  This week's Cameo Spotlight challenge is a color theme challenge.  I decided to incoprorate those colors using my favorite word cloud generator (Tagxedo) for another round of my Take What You Need cards.  This is actually going to be a card set, but alas, there wasn't enough time to get the entire set assembled today.  I do have one card to show you and here it is!

Toot Your Own Horn - Casual Fridays No. 72

This week's Cas-ual Fridays challenge is to make a card inspired by your own blog heading.  I am still head over heels in love with my blog design, it is so very me.  I decided to work with the same paper stack I used last time - My Mind's Eye Moments 6 x 6 stack.  The colors are perfect as they remind me of my blog.

Heroic Birthday Card

I need a quick birthday card for this evening.  I'm going to a birthday dinner for a friend I met through our local autism support group.  She's a fantastic woman and I don't think I know anyone who has worked harder for her kid.  Anyway, I have been playing with my digital kits and my latest favorite is from Traci Reed.  It's called Heroic and I love the vintage comic book images.  I used a few to make this birthday card using this week's sketch from Retro Sketches.
