It's A Boy

Let the onslaught of baby cards begin!  Brandy has been hounding me for what seems like forever for baby cards.  Not really on my radar but I saw a few cards on Pinterest that got me inspired.  Finally.  This one is pretty much a straight scrap lift from this card.  I used the Twinke Twinkle collection by My Mind's Eye. I really loved the simplicity of the design and the texture added by the embossing folder.

Pinwheel Cards

You might have noticed the presence of pinwheels all over my last scrapbook page.  There are numerous different ones in the Silhouette store and I finally got around with playing with them.  So I started with those and these cards developed as a result.

Congrats! and my newfound love for Modeling Paste

I discovered Modeling Paste!  Which is apparently not so new.  But new to me and I am head over heels with this technique.  I created this stencil myself with a few flower and flourish files from the Silhouette store.  It can take a minute, lots of trial error,  but boy do I love, love, LOVE the results.  I may become a stencil junkie very soon.

Thanksgiving Swings Part Deux

One of the things that I dread more than anything about blogging is taking photographs.  Now that I know how to dot it (somewhat) correctly I can't bring myself to just snap a few badly lit pictures and call it a day.  Nor can I seem to bring myself to pull out the light tent and all of the surrounding hubub as well.  Compromise.  No light tent, but a rigged up area on my kitchen table when it's sunny outside.  And I tend to do a lot at once which is one of the reasons I posts for days at a time and then again for say, a  month. Just being honest!  That's why these next four projects haven't made it to the blog sooner.  I finally got the urge to finally get that photography done today.

So, without further adieu, here is a scrapbook page I made of my son.  We've spent several Thanksgivings down in Florida with family and no matter how long it's been he's always drawn to the swings.  My first instinct was to try to recreate this layout but my pictures didn't quite fit so I decided to just wing it.  Loved the way it turned out though.

Life is Good!

My friend Liza's girls are adorable.   I mean really.  She posted this picture on Facebook and as I have before, I asked if I could scrapbook it for her.  She said yes!  I'm sure some of my friends are a bit leery of me these daysAnd I tried something new here - for the first time ever I used my Silhouette sketch pens.  It turned out okay.  I wish I had a thicker pen though, or perhaps a very fine marker.  I am going to have to look into this.

The paper is from MME.  I got it at one of those package sales at Archiver's right before they went out of business.  Sorry to see them go, but happy about the deal I got on the paper.  Thanks for stopping by today!
