You're Pretty Amazing

These are two more cards I made while I was on vacation.  It was inspired by this card by Jackie Rockwell, one of my favorite card designers.  I am really trying to incorporate more texture into my cards and I was happy to use a part of a cork sheet made by Canvas corp.  They won't cut in an electronic die cutting machine, but I can cut them out using my spellbinders dies.

The second card is a quick clean and simple card.  I am in love with flourishes at the moment so I pulled out my flourish stamps from Waltzingmouse stamps and used it on this card.

Paper:  Amy Tan's Sketchbook; DCWV Art of Type, Canvas Corp Cork adhesive sheet
Stamps:  Cas-ual Friday stamps, Waltzingmouse stamps
Flower:  Recollections stamps
Spellbinders:  ovals, beaded ovals, squares

Project Life Weeks Thirty-Nine thru Forty-Five

As I was scanning through some blog entries the other day I realized it's been a really long time since I've posted about Project Life.  I have stayed pretty much on top of this project, but for some reason haven't gotten around to photographing my layouts.  Maybe because it takes foreva!  Instead of posting every single page (and thus drowning you in boredom) I'm going to share some of the highlights of these seven weeks.

Again, lots of digital kits here and I love my inserts.  I can't believe I only have about five more weeks before this year is over.  Project Life has been such a wonderful experience.  I am definitely in for 2013!

Joy to the World

Long time no post eh?  I don't think I've ever gone this long without a blog post.  I have been busy with life, back to back vacations and here I am three weeks later.  I haven't had a ton of craft time lately and I've got some DT projects in the works.  I did find time to squeeze in a couple of cards though just for fun.   Eh, so let's rip this band aid off!  Here is the first of my goofing around cards.

Paper:  Teresa Collins Christmas; Canvas Corp. corrugated paper
Spellbinders:  Poinsetta

The Best is Yet to Come featuring DCWV's The Art of Type

Yes, uh huh, that's right, it's another file A2 card box.  This card is a complete scraplift from a really simple and beautiful card I saw on Pinterest.  I felt like stripping it down a little bit for some reason.  I pulled out a mat stack and paper stack that I haven't used yet - DCWV's The Art of Type.

You've seen this box before, albeit slightly differently.  I went back and reworked the file so that it can now be cut out of one 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.  You will have to assemble it (attach the front flap).  It's also slightly smaller in terms of width, but really, the first one was pretty big and this one holds 5 cards with quite a bit of dimension comfortably.  I am also offering this file as a free .studio file for download.  You can find it here.  As always, please do not share the file, but link back to my blog and leave me a note when you use it.  I want to see what you make with it!

Recipe:
Paper:  DCWV's The Art of Type mat stack & 12 x 12 paper stack; DCWV's Smooth Cardstock - Brights; DCWV Neutrals
Spellbinders:  Tags and square mats
Bling:  Doodlebug & My Stash
Stamps:  Cas-ual Friday stamps
Cording:  My Stash, Key Trinket: Prima

'Tis The Season featuring DCWV's Artic Wishes

Hola!  Happy Sunday everyone.  As you know I am a big fan of card sets and lately I have set out on a quest for cute boxes to display those cards.  As always, Pinterest never fails.  I found this cute box, and followed the basic tutorial to create a .studio file to create this box.  I actually tweaked it quite a bit to make it a bit smaller and suited to A2 size cards.  The cards are made using DCWV's card set Artic Wishes, as well as paper from their new 12 x 12 Artic Wishes stack.  DCWV always puts out a beautiful winter stack full of gorgeous blues.  Love it!  Okay, here it is.

I pulled out my sewing machine for this one, and man has it been some time.  Not my best stitching here.  Clearly I'm out of practice!  Otherwise I think these are pretty cute and will make a great gift.  Glad to be done with one of these, only about a gazillion more to go.

As I did with the last file box I created, I am offering this file free.  You can download the file free here from my Dropbox folder.  This box can be cut out using 12" cardstock, you will just need two sheets and it needs to be assembled. Interested in another free A2 card box? - check out Take What You Need Take 3 Redux.

Call Me Maybe . . . The Cameo Spotlight # 7

Hola everyone!  Happy Saturday.  Today's Cameo Spotlight challenge is sponsored by Paper Smooches stamps.  My card is almost 100% print and cut this week.  I found some digital paper to match this week's color challenge and cut out the shapes on my Cameo.  The card sentiment is also a print and cut, but the cute telephones and the inside sentiment are from the a Paper Smooches stamp set.  I don't buy many stamps because I can pretty much print and cut most everything that I want.  Of the few sets I've purchased in the last six months, Paper Smooches are among them.  Very cute, and very original images.  Love them!
