Let's Have An Adventure

This summer my niece earned the opportunity of a lifetime, to live and work in New Zealand for eight weeks.  I can't tell you how excited I was for her to take this trip - or how badly I wanted to pack myself inside one of her suitcases.  As it turns out, she just celebrated her 21st birthday so our family gift to her was a brand new SLR camera for her to take on her trip.  And boy did that pay off.  She supplied us with a steady stream of some of the most gorgeous photos I think I have ever seen.  Which of course means that at least one or two of them was going to end up on a scrapbook page right?  This first page I created is very simple, very stripped down.  I didn't want to pull much, if any attention away from the gorgeous pictures.

I used DCWV's new Linen stack.  I was a fan of the old one and the new one is equally as beautiful.  There is also a touch of Maggie Holmes' (Crate Paper) Vellum stack on here as well, along with some vellum and basic bazzil cardstock.  A few embellishments from Studio Calico, pearls from my stash, a stamp from Waltzingmouse and this baby is done.

The journaling is something my niece wrote.  I told her that this was going to be a gift to her parents and she wrote something really touching about her trip and all of the wonderful opportunities her parents have afforded her over her short lifetime.  She's growing up to be an exceptional young woman.  I still wish she would have packed me away in one of her suitcases . . .

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
