And She's Back . . .

Hello everyone!  Did you have a fantastic summer?  I did, although I have to say it hasn't felt much like summer.  Highs in the 60s in August anyone?  Say it isn't so!  I want to thank everyone who is still visiting my blog.  I know all of the literature says that in order to maintain a successful blog you have to post, post, and then post some more.  I will never be able to do that, I don't think I am built quite that way, so I am really thankful to each and every one of you who is still hanging in here with me!

My family and I loved my hiatus.  Okay, maybe I loved it a little more than they did.  But I'm back and ready to share a little something with you.  I did do a smidgen of crafting this summer so over the next few weeks I'll be showing you a few things that managed to leave my craft room el finito.

First up in a scrapbook page I made for a friend of mine.  It's her niece actually, and they joined us for a day at the water park.  Not having a little girl of my own, I'm thankful that I have friends who don't mind me scrapbooking theirs (yes Brandy I'm talking to you).  Did someone say pink?

Here is beautiful Malak.

You might remember this little girl from another project I did way back when - I decorated a wagon for she and her sister Kenza - you can find that post here.   As I was scrolling through the pictures in that post I couldn't believe how much Malak has grown!  They change so much in such a short time.  Sigh.

As you can see I framed this page, as it is a gift for her Mom.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye new Chalk Studio line, as well as some Pink Paisilee that I thought coordinated perfectly.  The solid paper is from Bazzill and all of the flowers are from my stash.  I'm making an attempt to actually use some of the gazillion I own versus making them, or (the horror!) purchasing more.  The wood veneers are from Studio Calico as well as Freckled Fawn.  I have a drawer full of them so get used to seeing them over and over again.  I can't help myself.  With that, I hope you like this page and I will see you again soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Not to worry...take all of the hiatuses you need. I'll still be here because your work inspires me. I have no words for this layout. All of the layers, colors and elements work so well together and what a great idea to convert the pic to black and white so that it didn't have to compete with everything else. Beautiful, beautiful work!
