A Bee Card for Card Patterns - Sketch No. 133

It's time for another card for a sketch challenge blog.  This time  I'm playing along with Card Patterns, Sketch No. 133.  This is another first time entry for me.  I ultimately decided to go with a bee theme when I couldn't leave the yellow and black paper I had pulled out.  The card measures 7.5 x 5.  It ended up being a little wider so I could accommodate all of the elements that I wanted.  I started by cutting the card base from Coordinations paper.  The newspaper print you see is from 7 Gypsies.  I cut it in 2 inch strips, matted it to black strips and used bright yellow thread to stitch them together.  For the top of the card, I used Labels Four from Spellbinders in more Coordinations cardstock, although I did spritz the yellow smaller label with glimmer mist to give it some shine.  It's stamped with a stamp from Flourishes that is actually meant to coordinate with another Spellbinders die.  I liked the look of the stamp itself though, so I stamped it in Basic Grey (Stampin' Up) and then added the "bee" sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  The bee was cut using from Cricut and the Sentimentals cartridge.  I cut it in several layers, and actually used vellum as the blackout layer. If you look closely the bee's wings look translucent.  I then added some black glassy accents on the top layer to make it stand out a bit more.  And as always - dimension, dimension, dimension.  The flourish is from Prima. I'ts actually a part of one.  The full flourish would have gone across the entire card and I didn't want that much so I snipped it and used just a small portion of it.  I also snipped the three flowers from the flourish and put them on the top of the label.  I am pretty happy with it and this was actually a very quick one to put together.
