Exceptional Teacher Tumblers

I have been working on these the past few days.  I meant to have them done to hand out on  Friday but you know how it goes.  If I had to venture a guess I would say that they are still going to be appreciated!  I have one for each of my son's awesome team, including his speech therapist and occupational therapist.  This was the first time I used my Cameo to cut from Make The Cut and I am happy to report that it really was as easy as downloading the pluggin. I used Make The Cut for the teacher's names because I wanted to use the conical wrap feature.  It re-sizes text to fit around a circular, or conical object, like these tumblers.  It is such a wonderful feature.  I hope that someone from Silhouette is paying attention!  The school related images are from the Silhouette store and the Cricut Cartridge Locker Talk.  It does feel pretty good to be using my Cricut again here and there.  And I am more than happy that my new gypsy is home and functioning according to specs.  Okay, here they are!

Wrapped up in gift bags and ready to go!

I am very proud of this project for a few reasons.  First, these babies take a long time and I managed to get them done within two days.  Secondly, everything you see (save the gift card) was in my stash!  Even the gift bags.  The tumblers are leftovers from a tumbler share I participated in last year, the vinyl is from Nick @ cricutvinyl.com, and the paper is also from my stash.  I didn't have to buy a thing and usually for a project like that I find myself picking something up.  So go me!  I feel a smidgen less guilty about all of those purchases last year!

  2. Great project! I'm curious, will the vinyl come off when you wash the cup?

  3. The vinyl is on the outside and since most of it is outdoor vinyl (the shiny kind) it really will hold up very well to washing. I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher, but by hand and with warm water.

  5. Cute project! Wonder if the SCAL 3 has the conical feature too - I only have the trial version of the MTC. Great tip on using that feature to better wrap cut images around cylinder shape projects. I love how you packaged them too.
