The Sky Is The Limit

I know many of you have spotted one of the latest trends - using old style Polaroid pictures and/or frames on cards and scrapbook pages.  I actually like this trend, and my fellow Cameo Spotlight DT member Christina Heeren inspired me to finally go there with her really cute Polaroid style cards that she designed and posted on her blog earlier this week.   I played around a bit this morning and came up with this really cute note card set.  This week's Casual Friday Challenge is to create a card based on something you see when you look in the sky.  Given the rain we've had for the last several days, all I can think about are clouds so that's what I used.   Here are the cards:

The Polaroid frame is one that I found in the Silhouette store, although I have to say after I downloaded it I thought - why the heck did I pay for that?  It's a square inside of a rectangle.  Note to self, I know you don't like designing shapes for the most part, but really, you can't done this with your eyes closed.  /rant  Then I welded some clouds to the frame and did an internal offset for each of the clouds for the top cloud layer.  A few words at the bottom with a print and cut label and Walla!  I was considering, for a brief time, to pull out my sewing machine to sew the label onto the frame.  I thought that would be really cute.  But I'm in the middle of a purge here, this room is a disaster and I didn't feel like lugging out that machine plus re-threading it twice.  Call these my rainy lazy day cards.  I opted to use my Tiny Attacher instead!

Recipe:
Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Fun Day, Canvas Corp kraft paper, Bazzil smooth white cardstock; Coordinations Gemstones
Silhouette:  All shapes, print & cut sentiment label
Staples:  Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

  10. What an awesome set of cards! I love how you make multiples and have just enough tweak on each to make it slightly different from each other - I enough trouble coming up with a single card most if the time LOL! But what a time saver if I follow your lead!
