Happy 10th Anniversary to Me!

Today (as it's officially past 12:00 a.m.) my husband and I are celebrating our 10th Anniversary.  Yea US!  I made him this card tonight and I wanted it to be so perfect.

The inspiration for this card was this week's Mojo Monday sketch.   Now you guys know I'm a paper nut, fiend, addict, etc.  I have been head over heels in love with My Mind's Eye's Stella Rose collection for well over a month now.  The only place I've been able to find it is at Archiver's and they only sell it by the sheet.  I generally have a firm rule against buying paper by the sheet but I couldn't help myself!  So, all of the papers you see here are Stella Rose - there are several lines within this main paper line, but I have bunches of them so I couldn't tell you which one is which - sorry!

Those of you you who know me well know how much I love dimension on paper projects.  I just think things look better when they stand out and dimensional elements are the easiest way to achieve this look.  You can also see several flowers on this card - I made them using Flower Shoppe.  The more I use it, the easier it becomes actually.  The 5 petal flowers were cut at 1.5", 1.75" and 2" for a little variety.  I also cut the centers at 3", 3.5" and 4". Since Stella Rose is a two sided paper the flowers turned out fabulous, I bent the leaves back a bit so you could see the pattern on the other side as well.  Did I mention how much I LOVE Stella  and Rose?  Once or twice maybe? Sigh.

The pennants were cut using my new Spellbinders nested Lacey Pennants.  I just happened to be at Joann's yesterday and all Spellbinders dies were 40% off - which is a great deal.  This particular Joann's generally has more of a variety so I was tickled to find this set along with a few others that are hard to come by in store, and especially, on sale.  I used the same set to cut out the tags at the bottom, and I dressed them up with a few pearls.

I used Elegant Edges to make the circle.  One of the best cartridges of all time, hands down.  The "Ten" was cut out using Make The Cut and the Albermarle Swash font.  I think this is the favorite part of my card.

Finally, the sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp stamped in Nearly Navy.  I used a few Stella Rose brads to make it stand out a bit more.

I generally like to put at least a mat on the inside of my cards, but here I went a bit further and added a few more die cuts.  These hearts were cut out using Spellbinders hearts and scalloped hearts dies.

And there you have it!  It took me a long time to make this card - I finished well after midnight.  But the lack of sleep is worth it considering the wonderful look on my husband's face this morning when I gave it to him.  Today, is most certainly a great day.

Thanks to all of new followers, and old followers for stopping by today!
