Welcome to May!

Good morning everyone and welcome to May!  It is a fabulous day here in Georgia.  I have finished my Mother's present and have moved onto other things.  Yahoo!  This morning I finished a new scrapbook page that I will put in my own book.  This is pretty significant for me as I haven't scrapbooked for myself since my youngest was born.  The three books I have made in the last year have all been gifts for my mother.  I find that I rarely keep the things I make, the joy for me is in the creating.  But - - as I spent the morning going through old photographs I felt like it might be time to start creating these wonderful pages for our family to keep and treasure.  I can only imagine what I am going to feel when I look back at this page in three four years from now.  So without further adieu, here is my first page.

I must give credit where it is due.  This design is completely scrap lifted from one of the pages I saw in my Sketch 2 Scrap IPhone app.  I loved it so much the only thing I changed was the paper.  The creator of the design is Janine Kocwara and she is an Aussie. You can find her site with the most incredible work here - A Creative Life.

A few notes about the page - I used Make the Cut to create the scalloped square and to cut out the title.  The flowers are from my stash, and some are layered from pieces I cut from the Mothers' Day Bouquet cartridge.  The tag is of course a Spellbinders tag, and the edges were punched used Martha Stewart and EK Success punches.  I really adore this page and am proud to have it be the first in what I hope is a long and beautiful line of preserved memories of my boys.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

  2. I was just going through the blogs of those that commented on my blog this week to say thanks and took one look at this LO and thought it looked like the sketches 2 scrapbook sketch that I did! Fantastic job with the sketch, but I have to give credit to anam Stubbington as she designed the sketch, I just had the wonderful opportunity of being asked to create a page with it. thanks for the credit though, it is so lovely when people are inspired to create because of a page I have created, truly a buzz!!n thankyou
