Project Life - Week Two

I know I said I would probably update my blog on Wednesdays with my progress but I have been having so much fun with this that I was pretty much all caught up by Friday.  Yesterday's photo was easy and planned and once I printed it out I was golden.

This week I discovered Ali Edwards digital brushes.  Now, I have always been a true to the heart paper crafter eschewing the digital because well, it just isn't the same!  I love the feel and smell of my paper and oh, the embellishments.  Truthfully, it's hard to close my albums.  But just by definition I want this album to be different.   Less flair, more of us.  And it would be great if I could close it at the end of the year. I have my traditional scrap booking to go nuts with my flowers, butterflies, and other dimensional embellishments.  The plan is to keep that to a minimum here.  That said, using Digital scrap booking techniques, I guess they are technically called hybrid because they do end  up on a page somewhere, is a  good way for me to have some fun and still feel a bit creative while making sure my album stays manageable.  I have just begun to start to play with Photo Shop Elements, and am thrilled to be able to date stamp and journal on pictures.  Ali has some fabulous handwriting for just that purpose.   So this week I played around with that and got to add some great little things.  I don't want to use it exclusively, and I am sure there will be weeks where I just won't have time, but for now I am enjoying myself.  All right, let me get to this week's pictures.

I had some irregular sized memorabilia I wanted to save so I used one of the 6 x 12 page protectors and did a little sewing to create custom pockets for the picture, journaling, and my son's handwritten note is sitting at the top.

This title card is a print and cut design I created using an Ali Edwards design and shapes and patterns from the Silhouette store.

I used an Ali Edwards brush to add this journaling to the picture in Photoshop Elements.

So that's it.  Week two, and what a week it's been.  I'll start fresh today, we've got lots of things to get done and there will be lots of opportunities to record something special.  I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and as always - thanks for stopping by!
