Can I just cut something already?!

It feels like ages since I actually made something.  So, when my mother in law asked me to personalize a composition book she bought for my seven year old today I jumped at it.  My son is a Donkey Kong lover.  But unfortunately for him (or fortunately, as far as we're concerned) he is only allowed to play video games on Saturdays and Sundays.  As a result, my incredibly imaginative boy spends a lot of his down time dreaming about the video games that he is going to invent one day, and working out their characters, challenges, levels, etc.  My mother in law thought it would be a good idea to have him start writing all of these fantastic ideas down and I agree.  I can't wait for him to start doing this - imagine how fantastic its going to be when he looks back at these when he is 15, 16, 30 and even 40 years old.  I get a little weepy thinking about it.

Here's what I started with.

And here's what I added.

It's certainly not terribly special, or ground-breaking in terms of design.  Okay, maybe it's even a little boring.  But it sure felt good to cut something!  I think I was going through withdrawal and hopefully this fix will last me through the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Such a cool idea!! And your right, when he's older and on NBC (in an interview with some famous anchor) he will say,"Look what my mom and grandmom got me started doing..."
I want to move into your basement and become your new best friend so you will teach me how to scrapbook. (best friend, stalker... what's the dif?)
If you get a chance and are at Barnes and Noble, check out "digital studio" by Someret. It is all scrapbooking that I want to learn, only on the computer. You WON'T BELIEVE IT!!!

  4. Yea! Karen's moving into my basement! I will warn you though - I don't do a ton of actual scrapbooking. I have been working with vinyl more than anything, and making the occasional card. I really want to start scrapping more. Oh, I've seen some fabulous digital scrapbooks. My blog design uses a digital kit. I'm just don't love it as much as I love my paper - and I have a lot of it!
